Atonement

Nahum stood before the entrance to Tlaxaklotl’s sanctum, an ornate gateway carved into the mountain rock. It was only mid-day. He had journeyed seven days in pilgrimage to the land of Ahnuxelu to make his offering to Tlaxaklotl, the lord of the void and master of the darkness.

Nahum stood with a heavy heart, this was not only the end of his journey but also the end of himself. Still looking at the entrance, he moved his hand to his chest, stroking the finger bone he had been wearing around his neck as a pendent, a constant reminder of the purpose of his pilgrimage and his sins. He thought about the circumstances leading to this moment, what he could have done differently and how he had failed her. Then a sense of clarity came over him once more, what was done was done and now it is time for him to atone and do right. Continue reading

“Hold the line! For the Emperor!”, shouted Commissar Fordt at the Stormtroopers and the guardsmen in the trenches as they came under attack from Chaos cultists at the Imperial shrine on Dublix Prime. Lasgun fire criss-crossed across the field as the imperial forces and heretics alike exchanged fire. It had been three hours now and the heretic forces charged relentlessly towards the shrine entrance, now heavily fortified behind sandbags, trenches and gun emplacements. The Commissar checked his vox transmitter and was greeted with a dull hiss once again, indicating a malfunction or signal jammer of some sort. Reinforcements were out of the question. He looked around and took note of the situation, the men under him were successfully keeping the heretics at bay and maintained a decent stalemate. None of the heretic forces managed to reach even the first line of defense but this won’t last long and the unrelenting attacks would wear them down eventually.

Then he saw it. Among the hoard of human cultists, there appeared red skinned monstrosities. Bloodletters thought the Commissar. It looked like the heretics wanted to break the stalemate by summoning their daemon allies. Not too long after he saw portals opening everywhere and daemons began to pour out of them. The Commissar looked at his men who were visibly shaken by this sudden development. “You will stand your ground! Anyone who abandons his post will be shot” shouted the Commissar as he fired his bolt pistol towards the rapidly approaching enemy. The enemy’s front lines were now almost completely made up of the Bloodletters now and they were charging towards the trenches. In the clearing between the trenches and the enemy a portal opened a few feet above the ground and down fell a human. The Commissar did not recognize his armor, he looked tall and well-built, reminding him of an Astartes. The men in the trenches held their fire, clearly astonished at this unusual turn of events. The heretic forces slowed down as well Continue reading

[WP] Planet Earth reached the point of no longer being safely habitable. Almost all of the worlds population took to space for survival, you were one of the very few left behind.

“Well, looks like this is our world now.” Linda spoke nonchalantly as the last colony ship departed over the horizon towards the vast emptiness of space. I looked over towards her as a single tear rolled out of her eye. She had submitted to her fate long ago but I could tell that she had not fully come to terms with the fact that her only living family had left without even a good bye.

I turned my gaze away from her back towards the ship, in my mind nothing’s changed much, I had always been a bit of an anti-social shut in and I was somewhat relieved that I would not have to put up with the bulk of the people again. However, I could not help but think about what kind of life had the NWO planned for us on different worlds. It then struck me, I would have been on that ship if I had not fucked up two months ago. I was an engineer at Ingdolf Pharmaceuticals Inc. and I used to make a tidy sum smuggling out Carcinodin for black market resellers. No one suspected anything until the top brass decided to do a surprise inventory audit prior to dismantling their infrastructure in preparation of leaving earth. Of course, I did not anticipate this and could not cook the books in time. Not only did I lose my job, but criminal charges were brought up against me. The relatively short trial ruled that I should get 10 years in prison, but since the population was already being lifted off world, the judge decided that my ticket aboard the colony ships would be cancelled instead. The NWO’s order prior to migrating the human population was clear – Criminals were not to be migrated with the global population. I sighed. Criminals would always exist because of human nature.
